It Only Takes One "Yes."

These are emails. The same ones many of you receive. The same emails that say “Thank you for your participation, but we decided to move forward with another candidate.”

Just because I do career coaching, doesn’t mean that I can get any job I want. This used to discourage me because of my work in helping others find jobs. I even made it through one job’s entire process twice and still got denied!

Now, it reminds me to be humble. It reminds me of what my clients and students go through on a daily basis. Ultimately, it makes me a better, more understanding, more empathetic Career Coach. Despite what you may think, there are times when you do everything right, and you still don’t get the job.

Keep pushing. It only takes one yes. Fortunately for me, the "yes" came from myself.
